How often should equipment be PAT tested?
There is no fixed legal interval. It depends on the type of equipment and how it is used, office equipment may only need testing every few years, while tools on a building site need checking far more often. We can advise on a sensible schedule for your premises.
Is PAT testing a legal requirement?
The law does not name PAT testing specifically, but it does require employers and landlords to keep electrical appliances safe. PAT testing is the recognised way to show you have met that duty, which is why insurers and inspectors expect it.
