Professional PAT testing across the Peak District

Built for rural operations

The Peak District presents challenges that towns do not. Many businesses operate in rural locations, welcome large numbers of visitors, or manage equipment across multiple buildings and sites.

Whether it is a holiday park near Castleton, a working farm outside Bakewell, a visitor attraction in the Hope Valley or accommodation in the Dales, we provide flexible testing designed for the way rural businesses actually work.

Farms, holiday parks and attractions

Outdoor and agricultural environments

Farms: battery chargers, power tools, workshop equipment, portable lighting, extension leads, office and staff-welfare appliances, kept safe despite demanding conditions. Holiday parks and caravan sites: reception, laundry, lodges, staff accommodation and communal buildings, often across many units. Visitor attractions: ticketing, computers, audio, catering, portable displays, lighting and retail equipment, kept safe for staff and the public.

Holiday accommodation

One of the largest concentrations in the country

We test holiday cottages, guest houses, boutique hotels and glamping sites throughout the region, often dozens of appliances per property, used year-round. For self-catering specifically, see our holiday let PAT testing page. We are used to travelling to villages, rural communities and countryside locations that other contractors avoid.

From the job

Testing in guest accommodation, and why we bring indoor shoes

A typical Peak District week runs from Hope Valley cement works and a stone quarry office one morning to a boutique spa near Hathersage the same afternoon. We carry the usual PAT kit, but we also carry indoor shoes and a change of clothes, because you cannot walk quarry dust through a guest cottage. There is a small ongoing debate too. PASS stickers are not mandatory, and plenty of hosts prefer them tucked out of sight, or left off altogether, on the grounds that a hallway plastered with green labels does not say home. We are happy to fit around either preference, and the certificate is still valid whichever way you play it.
